A new approach to linear displacement measurements based on Hall effect sensors

Since displacement is a vital variable to be considered in many industrial applications, sensing devices have been extensively studied both theoretically and experimentally. There also studies on Hall effect-based measurement, but for systems linearity still remains problem. This paper discusses different approaches calculate the magnetic field due cylindrical permanent magnet proposes new setup geometry with 2-Hall effect sensors between them overcome problems. Furthermore, theoretical experimental of discussed sensor were presented by focusing linear range sensitivity system. These parameters investigated sensor-to-sensor distances. As this value decreases, it found that increases, yet decreases as well. For 25.5 mm distance was determined around 3 mm, maximum error measurement calculated 351 mV/mm 0.029 respectively. We believe using results our study, possible develop sensor-based can used sensitive measurements certain meet needs researchers industry applications.
